She could feel someone softly kissing her
cheek. Slowly she turned her head and tried to open her still tired eyes. To
her surprise Jon was not only wide awake, but shaved and dressed.
“What? Why are you up that early?” Kim moaned
when she checked the alarm clock. It was 7:30 am. Totally not her time since
she started living on Jon’s vampire hours.
“Because we gotta go, if we wanna have
something from this day.” Jon said and pulled the blanket away. Kim protested
loudly.
“Jon, give it back.”
“Come on, honey…it’s our first anniversary. I wanna spend the day with you…alone.” He
said softly. She blinked a couple times while her mind was processing his
words.
“Our what?” she sat up and rubbed her eyes.
“We are together for one year today.” Jon said
grinning like a fool.
“Really? Wow. How did that happen?” Kim asked
laughing when he pouted.
“Come on, let’s get out of here, before
everyone wakes up.” He urged her to get out of bed. Once the kids would be
awake they wouldn’t have a quiet minute.
“Ok, ok…but can we at least have breakfast?”
she asked before jumping out of bed and walking towards the bathroom.
“We will have breakfast, but not here. Go, I
have it all planned.” He tried to push her through the door. Kim shook her head
and put her arms around his neck. She was standing on tip toes to place a kiss
on his lips.
“Jon, you have another show tonight. The next
to last one…we could just stay in.” She suggested. She had to admit she was
touched he’d planned something and took time for them out of his schedule. He
was really busy these days. Sometimes she was only seeing him on stage in the
evening.
“No. You know we wouldn’t be alone. And I
really wanna be just with you for a
couple of hours. Ok?” His blue eyes looked at her begging.
“Ok. Give me 10 minutes.”
“Great. Wear something comfortable.” He told
her when she was already closing the door.
“What do you wanna do?” Kim asked a little dumb
folded. He just gave her a wide grin and wiggled his eyebrows. Kim rolled her
eyes and finally closed the door.
20 minutes later they were sitting in the back
of a limousine with tinted windows and tried to find their way through the
London traffic.
“And all that without coffee.” Kim gave Jon a
long look. He chuckled.
“Well, we can cure that.” He pulled at a
blanket and revealed a picnic basket that was sitting right to his feet. When
he opened it Kim clapped her hands happily.
“Food!” Jon laughed at her excitement.
“You know, I learned a while ago that you are
always hungry.”
The basket held different fruits, muffins,
toast, jam and scrambled eggs and bacon in a thermal container.
“Here’s your coffee, hon.” Jon carefully handed
her a cup and poured some of the warm liquid for himself from the thermos jug.
“Well, thank you.” She kissed his cheek
shortly. Somehow she couldn’t lose the feeling that he was trying to get their
relationship back to what it was like at the beginning. Before the tour, before
the big fight and before all the other shit that happened.
“So, about this day…” Kim said after they had
nearly finished their breakfast. “…you are sure, we are together for one year today?”
“Yes, I am.” He said looking very sure of
himself. Kim laughed lightly.
“Ok, Mr. Confident and what day would you say
we ‘got together’?” she asked
crossing her arms in front of her chest.
“Well…” he slowly took another sip of his coffee.
She looked at him expectant and waited. His little games weren’t throwing her
off anymore.
“Our date at Becco’s.” he finally said. “One
year ago.”
“Oh really, that early,…… interesting.” She stated
smoothly.
“Well, yeah…it was our first date, we kissed and
well,…I don’t know…I thought …we both…I mean during that lunch….there was
something, right?” He stuttered nervously. It seemed she really threw him off
with her reaction. She grinned.
“True. There was something during that lunch….hm,
but I don’t know.” She looked at little doubtful.
“You mean, that wasn’t the day for you?” he asked
a little shocked. Kim tried very hard to control her laughter when she saw this
panic look on his face.
“Oh, Jon…I don’t know…honestly. Maybe it was
the lunch, maybe it was the next evening at my place, or the morning after,
when you showed up with breakfast, I don’t know.” She moved closer to him and
wrapped her arms around his neck. He still looked a little confused.
“I don’t think I can ‘press’ my feelings into
one day and say that was the moment. But I can tell you that it was clear for
me after this first couple dates we had. Ok?” She looked at him softly.
“Ok.” He smiled and leaned down for a long
kiss. Kim needed a couple minutes to get herself under control after they
parted and the driver told them that they are nearly there.
“So, where are we?” Kim wondered when she got
out of the car and was standing in front of what seemed to be horse stables.
“Well, we are close to Richmond Park.” Jon
pointed to a group of trees behind the stables.
“And these are our partners in crime for the
next couple hours.” Kim turned and saw two beautiful horses being brought over
to them.
“Oh my God. That’s so sweet.” She hugged Jon
dearly. He laughed.
“You can ride a horse, hon, right?” He asked a
little concerned. They never talked about horses. So he had no idea if she ever
had lessons, he simply expected it due to her upbringing.
Kim snorted unlady-like about his comment.
“Is the Pope catholic? Of course, can I ride a
horse. I basically grew up on one.” She walked towards one of those beauties
and gently pet it’s neck. After checking the saddle and the stirrup, she sank
graciously into the saddle, making sure she wouldn’t hit the horse with her
full weight into its back
“That’s what I thought.” Jon grunted while the
stable-lad, who brought the horses over, helped him up.
“You alright, baby?” Kim asked giggling.
“I’m fine. Thank you very much.” He told her a
little huffy when he was finally in the saddle.
“So, why don’t you have a horse when you love
them so much?” Jon wondered while they were slowly making their way into the
park.
“It takes a lot of time to take care of a
horse, Jon. You can’t just deposit that poor animal somewhere, you gotta move it
every day. I find it difficult to get out with the dogs once a day. It wouldn’t
be fair for the horse.” She watched him carefully while they were going a slow
pace.
“How much lessons did you have Jon? Can you
stay up when we go faster?”
“Of course. I wouldn’t bring you here, when I
couldn’t keep up with you. Let’s go.” He said and managed to get his horse into
trot.
“Not bad…but that’s not keeping up with me,
hon.” Kim laughed when she started in a fast canter and hit his butt with her
right hand when she passed him.

Sounds like Jon and Kim are finally getting back on track.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love when romantic Jon comes out and takes a spin with Kim. A private picnic with Jon sounds like heaven *sigh*
