Chapter 109

The next morning Kim and Jon entered the huge room, in which the hotel prepared a breakfast buffet for every one of the Bon Jovi family.

“Auntie Kim.” Jason raced towards her the minute she entered the room.

“Hi Jason. How are doing?” Kim smiled and hugged the boy dearly.

“I’m fine. There’s so much to see. The big wheel, the palace and we saw horses yesterday, lots of horses.” He jumped from one foot to another in excitement.

“That sounds great, baby.” Kim chuckled softly and was glad at the same time that he and the other children weren’t in the hotel when Jon and her had their big fight yesterday.

“Where are Fran and Rich?” Jon had scanned the room and couldn’t see them. A little worried he looked at David and Tico, but they only shrugged their shoulders. Dot and the other women shook their heads as well.

“Fran is still sleeping and Daddy didn’t wanna leave her alone,…uhm…you know…” Ava told them a little conspirative. Jason didn’t know about the last day events and it should stay like that.

“I see.” Kim nodded and Jon swallowed hard. She squeezed his hand softly.

“I will check on her later.”

“Yeah.” He nodded and busied himself at the buffet.

“Mom is sleeping a lot lately. Is that normal?” Jason asked her a little concerned.

Suddenly all the adults in the room where watching them. Kim sighed softly and kneeled down to look Jason in the eye. She know she couldn’t lie to him, he would be able to see through it immediately, he always does when somebody wasn’t telling the truth he had a radar for it. But she knew she had to spare some details.

“Yes, baby. It’s normal. And she will get easier exhausted and tired when the pregnancy progresses.”. She softly took his hands into hers to calm him when he looked even more worried after her comment. For him Fran was always the active and ever present mother. She never had to slow things down. It was a totally new concept to him. “

You know, that there is a baby in her. And that baby needs to eat, to drink and breath. And your mom has to do it all for the baby until he or she is born. It’s lots of work, so she needs to rest more.”

Jason looked at her with huge eyes.

“It was the same when you were still in her tummy. And everything turned out just fine.” Kim smiled when he nodded.

“Ok, if you say so, Auntie Kim.” It seems Kim destroyed any worries he had, because in the next second he walked over to the buffet to get some juice. Kim exhaled slowly.

“Good job.” Jon whispered when she sat down next to him.

“It’s easy. He believes every word I say, I never lied to him.” Kim answered in a low voice.

“You didn’t lie to him now.” Jon pointed out and handed her a cup of coffee.

“Yeah, I just left out the main details from yesterday.” Kim took a sip and sighed. It wasn’t lying, but it didn’t feel good either, but Jason was so protective of his mom that he would probably have a fit and attack Jon right in front of everyone in this room.

“Dad, dad, dad…..” Romeo rushed to Jon’s side.

“Yes, buddy?”

“I wanna ride in your boat.”

“We all wanna ride in your boat.” Jake corrected and pointed at the children in the room, who were paying very close attention to the conversation now.

“My boat? You know our boat is in Jersey.” Jon told his two youngest sons a little confused.

“No, not that boat. The boat here!” Romeo whined and pulled at Jon’s right arm.

“What are you talking about?” His father stared at him. He only had one boat. He used it to get out on the Navesink River from time to time.

“I think they mean the water taxi, you guys take every day to get to the venue.” Kim interjected.

“Yes, the boat!” Romeo said sternly.

“Oh,…uhm…well, I’m not sure you guys can ride with it. There is no real railing, you could fall into the water and we don’t fit all in there. It’s a small boat.”

“But dad, we are staying for a couple more weeks. We can split up into groups.” Jesse told him calmly. Jon shot him an angry look that made Kim giggle, but she turned serious again the next second when Jon glanced at her…at least she tried.

“Uhm….” Jon looked at Dorothea for help, but it seemed that she enjoyed it tremendously to see him squirm.

“What do you think, Do-ro-the-a.” Emphasizing her full name.

“Oh, I would  l-o-v-e  to take a boat ride.” She grinned at him evilly.

“I bet you would.” He said dryly. He looked at the girls on the opposite side of the table.

“I take it,  you ladies wanna take a boat ride too.”

“Of course, dad.” His daughter answered lightly annoyed before sipping at her tea.

“Of course, what was I thinking…” Jon mumbled to himself. Kim tried hard to laugh out loud when he got up and walked to the door. It wasn’t even closed yet, when they could hear Jon’s voice echoing through the corridor.

“MATT! Move your ass here, the kids wanna ride with that stupid water taxi. It was your fucking idea, so you will ride with them!”

The room exploded in laughter.
