“Jesse? Are you ok?” Dorothea rushed into the apartment.
“I’m fine, mom.”
Dorothea looked at Kim for confirmation.
“We should take him to hospital to make sure his rips ain’t broken, it hurt him when I examined him, but besides that it’s just bruises and scratched. His retina isn’t damaged. The eye is just extremely swollen. He was lucky.”
Dorothea nodded understanding and looked back at her son. He looked terrible. It made her heart arch to see one of her babies like this, but at the same time anger flamed up in her. She already saw his hands and she knew he used karate. He just wasn’t used to really fighting. He was out of training.
“Any explanation?” she asked him.
“Nope!” his voice had the same annoyed ton his father’s voice would get when he didn’t wanna talk about something. Dot sucked in a breath. Jon’s behaviour was one thing, but she wouldn’t let her son talk this way with her.
“JESSE JAMES BONGIOVI! You better watch your attitude Mister! You don’t have any right to be snippy here!”
Jesse spit out a ‘Yes ma’am’ as fast as possible. Everybody knew you had bad cards with his mom when she used your full name.
“What were you thinking? Didn’t I tell you over and over again you should not attack someone with karate? You only defend yourself!”
“Yes ma’am.”
“That’s all you are going to say? Yes, ma’am? I’m waiting for an explanation, Jesse. And I hope it’s a good one!”
Jess swallowed hard. The look on his mother’s face was pretty frightening. He already knew he was in trouble, but not that bad. Hopefully his dad could help him to put oil on troubled waters.
“Some guys at school wanted me to smoke again.” He said and shortly glanced at Kimberly.
She shook her head. Interesting! Now they were no longer his friends. Dorothea didn’t miss Jesse glance.
“I’ll take you got another version.” She asked. Kim only nodded.
“HEY…!!” Jesse shouted angry at her.
“What Jesse? Do you really think I’m gonna lie to your mother?” Kim stepped closer to the couch and stared at him with anger as well.
“Do you really think that? You will not outplay us, Jesse! This is not about getting the best deal for you out of this! Dammit, tell her the truth and I’m pretty sure she’ll understand your reaction.”
Dot looked her interested. “Oh, really?”
“I said understand not tolerate.” Kim clarified. The other woman nodded.
“So?” Dot crossed her arms in front of her body and looked at her son expectant. Jesse gulped. Great, now he had to deal with two angry women. He really wished his father would be there.
“Andy, Mark, Tim and Brad wanted me to smoke.” Jess admitted.
“Oh, how nice. The so called best friends beat you up like this. Isn’t it sweet.” Dorothea shook her head. She really needed to talk to their parents this time. They weren’t making nothing but trouble when they all were together, Jesse included.
“So, that’s what this was all about? A cigarette?” It seemed a little bit odd to her even though they were talking about teenage boys here.
Jesse pressed his lips together and didn’t look at her.
“Jesse.” Kim said softly. Dorothea shot Kimberly a look.
“Jesse, why don’t you tell her? I can leave you two alone, if you don’t want me to hear it.” Kim offered softly.
“I’m not gonna tell her!” Jesse sat up slowly and threw the ice pack on the couch.
“Jesse, lay down again.” Kim went over to him. If some of his rips were really broken, it wasn’t good for him to sit up or walk around.
“No, I’m fucking damn fine.” He growled and got to his feet.
“Jesse!” Dorothea said sternly.
“No, God dammit! Gimme a break!” he cursed and limped out onto the terrace. Dot shook her head and tried to go after him.
“No, wait Dorothea. Give him some time to cool off.” Kim stepped into her way. The other woman stared at her as if she was nuts.
“Just a couple minutes. He won’t go anywhere.”
“Ok, but I don’t like it that he is alone out there.” Dot agreed.
“No problem.” Kim turned to her dogs. “Kidd, Sambo…Go!” she pointed with her outstretched arm to the terrace and the dogs immediately went outside into the same direction were Jesse went.
“You really named them ‘Kidd and Sambo’? Dot asked amused.
“Yeah, Fran suggested it and was so damn right with it.” Kim laughed. She was glad Dorothea wasn’t angry about her interfering.
“How about a cup of tea?” Kim asked.
“Yeah, sounds great.” Dot sighed and followed Kim into the kitchen.
“Did you already informed, Jon?”
“No, I called you first. If I wouldn’t have been able to get a hold of you, I would have called him. Besides I think this is something you and him need to discuss and work on together.” She told her and handed her the tea.
“Yeah, you are probably right. This is all just very confusing. Jesse never was in a fight before, well not physically. Normally he has his temper under control, way better than Steph actually.” Dorothea looked into the direction of the patio thoughtful. Kim hesitated a moment.
“Well, I guess that depends on what someone would say to him.” Dorothea turned to her surprised.
“He told you?”
“No, not really. Let’s say I know the topic, but he didn’t tell me any details. And I didn’t press. I don’t think I’m in the position to do so.”
“Hmmm…and what was the topic?” Dorothea wanted to know.
“You.” The brunette chocked at her tea.
“Me?” she asked irritated.
“Yes, apparently someone said something about you that made Jesse flip out.” Kim told her. Dot studied her face for a minute, before she was sure Kim really didn’t know anything.
“Excuse me for a minute.” she set her tea down and walked out onto the patio.
Kim put their tea cups into the dishwasher and put away her medical equipment, before calling ahead to the hospital and inform them that she would show up with a patient that needed a chest x-ray.
When she was just wondering what she could do next Dorothea re-entered the apartment.
“This is unbelievable! Apparently I’m a MILF!”
“What?” Kim stared at her confused.
“Mother I like to fuck!” Dot explained. “Since I’m divorced and hot - according to these stupid boys - they wonder if I scream in passion when I come during sex.”
Kim wanted to say something, but had no idea what to say. Actually she had to fight very hard right now not to laugh. Dorothea saw the traitorous twitch around the corners of her mouth though.
“You are right, this could be really funny, if my son wouldn’t look the way he is looking right now.” She pointed out and couldn’t help to chuckle herself.
“What’s wrong with those boys?” Kim wondered and started to grin.
“I have no idea. You tell me. How high is the overload of hormones in a teenage boy’s body?”
“Actually not much higher than in a 75 year old.” Kim informed her.
“Well, than these older gentlemen simply learned when to keep their mouth shut!“ she answered before erupting into laughter.
OMG! LMAO! Poor Dot doesn't know whether to feel flattered or disgusted!
