“God, I’m too old for this shit.” Jon growled and let himself fall onto the couch in his suite in Sacramento. The other four men followed right behind him. They just finished an interview marathon.
“You ain’t too old. You are frustrated, because you didn’t get laid for three weeks.” David replied dryly.
“Fuck you!”
“No, thanks!” the keyboard player said and handed each of them a coke from the fridge.
“Come guys, we need to get used to it…again. This tour will last for two years.” Tico grumbled and shot Jon a mean look.
“Hey, I didn’t hear any complains when we talked about it.”
“Hmpf! It wouldn’t have changed anything.” Rich interjected. Jon’s eyes narrowed dangerously.
“Ok, ok…everybody calm down.” Hugh said loudly and got everybody’s attention. “If I’m not mistaken everyone wanted to tour again. It’s just that your personal life changed all of a sudden and now you are some miserable suckers! Deal with it! Or take a cold shower!”
Jon sighed deeply. Hugh was right. He planned this tour before he met Kim. He sure wouldn’t have mind touring when he would still be single.
“Hugh, is right. Sorry, guys.” He said into the silence of the room. Four heads nodded. Jon rubbed his tired eyes.
“When was the last time you talked to her?” Rich wanted to know.
“Last night.” His best friend answered.
“Well, shouldn’t you be a little more…uhm…relaxed then?” David wondered. The way Jon was acting he was sure Kim and him didn’t talk lately. Jon only laughed dryly.
“She is renovating the apartment. The only thing we were talking about were colors and texture, furniture and draping’s. Believe me, we were miles away from phone sex.” Jon sighed.
“Maybe you should be more persuasive next time.” Tico suggested. If Jon wouldn’t find a way of release soon, he would explode and nobody wanted an angry boss around, especially if it was a Bongiovi.

“And this bedroom and bathroom I wanna transfer into an office.” Kim said and looked at the interior designer who was getting the big tour of her normally so private apartment.
“That shouldn’t be a problem. Anything special that should be added?” he asked while writing a couple of things down.
“Well, we need to add a safe…and I was thinking about having a small bar that will vanish behind the wall or a closet when not needed. And a big TV screen over here, opposite from the desk.” Kim pointed at the wall.
“Yes, we can do that. Do you wanna have bar stools as well or just the counter?”
“Just the counter. I only want him to have the option to hand out some drinks here when he is having a visitor. So he doesn’t have to go back down to the kitchen or library for it.” The designer nodded understanding and followed her into the next room.
“This will be the bedroom for a sixteen year old girl. I talked with her about colors and what she wants. She has a very clear idea for the room. The major colors should be a warm sunshine yellow and deep purple. She wants white furniture and this….comfy looking armchair to relax.” Kim handed him a printed picture of the armchair Steph showed her on the internet.
“She really knows what she wants. And I have to say, she has a great sense for colors and shapes.” The designer nodded approving.
“Good. If she isn’t happy I will give her your phone number. Believe me you wouldn’t like it.” Kim said laughing and left the room for the next bedroom. The designer followed slowly.
“So, tell me…is it possible to make a soundproof room out of it?” Kim asked when they were finally back in the kitchen and going over everything again.
“Well, I have to talk with the specialists about it. But I think it shouldn’t be a problem. Your …uhm…boyfriend…uhm, I mean fiancée…”
“Wait a second. Boyfriend. And don’t dance around it every time we meet, Andrew. You know very well who he is and that’s ok. I just don’t wanna find pictures of my apartment or exclusive stories about our love life in any magazine the day after tomorrow, ok?”
“Of course. I would never do that….” He tried to collect himself. Kim was giving him a big opportunity here. He did have smaller jobs, but with re-doing nearly the entire apartment, he could really gain a reputation. He would be an idiot to risk that for some pictures in a magazine.
“Good. Now when can we start and where?” Kim smiled lightly. She really like this man. Sure, he was a bit nervous and talking too much from time to time, but she was sure he would get used to the thought of doing a bedroom in which Jon Bon Jovi would sleep.
“Well, I would like to start next week with the kids’ bedrooms. We will remove the furniture and then start painting in the different colors, before the artist’s for the big transformer graffiti’s will show up.”
“Ok, then I see you next week.” Kim said and escorted him out. She really hoped the boys would like it and that Jon would love the small soundproof room she was planning for him. He would be able to play even in the middle of the night and nobody would wake up. It would be a surprise though, because actually they talked about keeping his place for recording and writing with Richie.
“Come on boys, let’s go outside.” Kim called her dogs over and put their leashes on.
Together they left the building and walked the few meters until they were in Central Park. When Kim was sure nobody else would be bothered she let her dogs run around for a while before starting their favorite play…Frisbee.
Even though nobody else was close to them and only a few people were walking by in the distance, Kim had again the weird feeling that someone was watching her. Actually she had the feeling as soon as she left the building.
Right now she wasn’t scared though. Her dogs would attack whoever wanted to get close to her immediately if she wouldn’t stop them, but she was getting curious who was watching her and why. Something told her she had to be careful.
Maybe I should start with karate again?
