Chapter 71

“Well, what do you think, honey?”

“I don’t know. It’s a nice place…but I’m not sure it’ll fit our needs.” Kim turned to look at Jon. He nodded.

“I know what you mean.”

It was mid-December and Jon was finally on his Christmas break from touring. This was the fourth apartment they were looking at today and so far none was what they wanted. Kim checked out one of the bedrooms.

“The size is fine. For a guestroom or for one of the kids rooms. But we need more. I would say at least six or seven plus our room.” Kim pointed out.

“Well, Romeo and Jake could share one.” Jon suggested. She shook her head.

“It may work now Jon, but believe me in two or three years it’s no longer an option. You’ll be relieved when you can send them into their separate rooms.” He chuckled. But knowing his sons she was probably right.

“So, what do you think Mr. Bon Jovi? It’s great, isn’t it.” The realtor entered the room. Kim rolled her eyes at Jon. All day long this guy was ignoring her, even though it was her who made the appointments and told him specifically what they were looking for.

Jon grinned. He hadn’t said a word so far to this guy. He was getting on his nerves and he so didn’t need a bootlicker when he was home from touring. Besides the fact that he was ignoring his girl pissed him slightly off.

“I don’t think this is what we are looking for.” Kim said as calm as possible. “I thought I gave you very specific information what we want. And as far as I remember I said money isn’t important.”

“Well, this is a really nice apartment and it costs a lot. If you wouldn’t focus so much on spending Mr. Bon Jovi’s money you would surely see this, Miss.”

Jon couldn’t believe his ears. Kim stared at the guy for a few seconds. And before Jon could say anything she lost it.

“First of all…my name is Dr. Kimberly Anderson. If you would have taken any notes during our conversation in your fucking damn office you would remember that. Second it’s not Mr. Bon Jovi who will pay for this apartment, but me and third even if this place would fit our needs I wouldn’t do any kinda business with you.”

They didn’t talk about how they would finance the new apartment. It simply wasn’t necessary. She knew it wouldn’t be a problem.

“Oh, really and how what you like to pay for it.” He fleered at her.

“I don’t know…let me guess…with some money from my multi-billion-dollar account you stupid piece of jerk!” Kim turned on her heel and left the apartment.

“I’ll make sure all my friends will get to know how badly you are treating clients. You will never in your poor fucking life sell a place in New York anymore. And I’m pretty your my future wife will tell her colleagues at the hospital as well.” Jon’s voice was cool as icy before he left the apartment as well. Down at the entrance area he caught up with Kimberly, who was cursing the jerk six ways to heaven.

“What a fucking asshole!”

“I should sue that fucking bastard!”

“Stupid Idiot!”

Kim was throwing her hands in the air and her voice gained more and more volume. She wouldn’t calm down. Jon looked around and realised people started to turn around and recognise them. Without a word he grabbed her hand and pulled her two blocks down the street into nice looking bar.

“Jon, what…?” Kim looked around irritated, even though she was happy to be inside again and no longer feeling the cold icy December wind on her skin.

“Would you bring us a bottle of Pinot Grigio and the menu, please.” Jon told the waiter while he pulled Kim down on a small couch.

“Of course, sir.” The waiter hurried to the bar and just minutes later was back with the bottle of wine. The woman obviously was upset. He knew to better hurry with such customers.

“Thanks.” Jon handed him a generous tip. The waiter bowed lightly and left them alone. Jon poured some of the gold shining liquid into a glass.

“Drink.” He ordered. She sighed and let the wine play with her taste buds for a long minute before she swallowed it.

“Better?”

“Yeah.” She sighed again. This was all so frustrating. Why couldn’t they find an apartment? They were in New York for God’s sake. There should be an apartment available for them.

“I don’t know about you, but I’m not really in the mood to do that again.” Jon said after they got some soup and sandwich. Kim stared at him.

“So, that’s it? We don’t move together?” her mind started spinning and her eyes filled with tears.

“What? No…I didn’t…oh, Kimi….” Jon pulled her into his embrace and tried to calm her.

Lately she was getting emotional very often. The stress of the last couple weeks was getting to her. She was working one overtime after the other at the hospital, her boss was not very happy with her quitting her job, she tried to get everything ready for a quiet and peaceful Christmas and now they couldn’t find a new apartment.

“Kimi, I wanna live with you. I just don’t wanna waste my time with another realtor who can’t show us what we really want.” Jon caressed her cheek softly and she nodded.

“I think we already have the perfect place.” He added. She looked at him confused.

“What? Where?”

“I think your place is absolutely perfect for us.” Jon told her softly. The more he was thinking about it during the day, the more he knew he was right. He found himself comparing each apartment they visited to her two story loft at Central Park. It was just perfect.

“But your kids.” She pointed out.

“It’s fine Kimi. It’s just a 20 minute drive with the car. We can even use the public transportation. Kidd and Sambo can go out to the Park. We have eight bedrooms plus our master bedroom, great living space and a gorgeous view over the Park. It’s the perfect place to live.”

“Are you really fine with it?” She still was unsure about it.

“Yeah, totally. I can move in with my Tak and some clothes tomorrow.” He only half joked.

“But we still need to do some changes.” Kim pointed out and got out her IPhone.

“What do you mean?” Jon asked curious.

“Well, I decorated it. But what about you? What would you like to change?” she asked and typed on her phone.

“We don’t have to change anything, Kimi. You have a great taste. I like your place.” He tried to assure her.

“Come on Jon. I saw your house and apartment. I know that you like it not so colorful and a little bit more pure and straight forward without much decoration.” Jon frowned.

“Ok, wait a second. With the colors you may be right. I have so much stuff going on when I’m not at home that I like to keep it calm and simple so I can relax. But with the decoration stuff, I simply don’t know anything about it and I don’t have the time to work myself into it. I like it the way you did it. Some little accents…not overwhelming, but…uhm..cozy.” She watched him interested.

“So homey and relaxed feeling.”

“Yeah.”

“And you like dark furniture.”

“Uhm, yeah…you too, right? So that shouldn’t be a problem.”

“Right.” She grinned. “So, that’s it?“

“I think so. We have an apartment.” He raised his wine glass and toasted at her before sharing a long deep kiss.

Chapter 70

“How are you feeling, honey?” Jon asked when Kim came to bed that night.

“I’m fine.”

“Really?” he looked at her concerned. Even though he laughed and joked about it, he knew his mother’s words hurt her. He could see it in her eyes. She sighed.

“She didn’t even give me a chance. She didn’t wanna get to know me and then has the sassiness to say I’m after your money.”

He watched the emotions on her face. She’d hoped to get along with his parents, especially with his mother as she had have such a good relationship to her own mother and still missed her every day.

“I’m sorry, Kimi.” He whispered.

“What? Why? You didn’t say it, it was your mother.” She said surprised.

“You just said it…my mother. I feel responsible for it.” He really did.

“Don’t.” She whispered and kissed his lips softly before resting her head on his chest. He wrapped his arms around her and inhaled her scent deeply. He didn’t care what his mother was thinking, he knew she was the right one.

“You know…I can only tell you that she doesn’t play a major role in my life anymore. That ended when Dorothea stepped into the picture…actually it is way more important for me that you two girls get along. My parents live a couple hundred miles away, but Dot and I see each other frequently.”

“I really like her, Jon. Is that odd?” she asked a little worried.

“I don’t care if it’s odd…I like it that you get along. I think it makes everyone’s life a little easier.” He kissed her temple.

“She really liked the gift basket you gave her.” He added.

“I think it was only fair. She had so much work with the preparations and had to deal with the kids at the same time as well. Next year, I do the cooking.” Jon smiled at her words.

“What?” she wondered.

“I like it that you see us together next year.”

“Well, let’s hope. Who knows what really happens when we move in together.” Kim chuckled.

“Speaking about it. How about we check out some apartments when I’m on the break before Christmas. Just to get an idea if there’s something out there that would fit our needs. Do you think it’s possible to squeeze it in?”

“I think so.  And when we don’t find one? Where do we stay?”

“I don’t know. Let’s think about it when it happens. Maybe we find one and everything is fine.” Jon said before rolling them carefully. Kim grinned.

“Ever did it in the guesthouse?” she asked. He cocked his head thinking about it.

“No, I don’t think so.”

“Interesting.” Kim whispered before their lips met for a long lazy kiss.

Jon’s hands slowly wandered to the hem of her sleep shirt and pushed it up over her head. His eyes travelled over her gorgeous body while his fingers glided softly over her creamy skin, taking in every tiny detail.

His eyes met hers when he caressed one rosy nipple and made her gasped at his touch. He leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on her lips. Her hands pushed at his shoulders to urge him up again and hurry, but he shook his head.

“Let me spoil you tonight. Let me make you feel good.” He whispered low in her ear and made her shiver with excitement. She nodded with slightly parted lips. Just the thought had her wet and ready for him.

His mouth started to explore  every tiny bit of her body, leaving a trail of wet soft kisses on her skin. His fingers draw lazy circles around her now proud standing nipples, down her flat belly to her heated core.

She squirmed on the sheets, trying to release some of the tension that was building in her body, but Jon stopped her movement by slowly lying down on her. She pressed herself closer to him, needed to feel his hard chest rub over her sensitive nipples, but he wouldn’t move. She moaned in frustration when she realized he only wanted to lay there.

He chuckled softly and shifted lightly making sure his weight wasn’t too much for her. Her eyes darkened when she felt his hard shaft pressed against her thigh. She flexed her hips and pushed against him in need.

“Please, Jon…” he could barely hear her plea.

His hand sneaked between them and glided gently over her hot wet folds. She moaned loudly and arched into his touch.

Jon smiled and watched her eyes flutter close from the overwhelming sensation. Her hips rocked lightly and pressed forward with every stroke he made, wanting him to touch her where she needed it the most.

He twisted his hand and entered her with two fingers.

“Yeeeessss….” She moaned against his lips when he bent down to kiss her deeply. Her body was already covered with a thin film of sweat, her breathing had sped up and she was biting down on her lower lip to keep her control.

With his free hand he gently touched her bottom lip. Her eyes flew open and looked at him.

“Don’t hurt yourself, honey.” He said softly. Her heart arched at the loving look in his eyes. Even during their love making he was watching out for her, needed to make sure she wouldn’t get hurt.

“Oh, Jon…” her eyes became misty and she could feel a familiar tingle in her belly.

He could sense she was close to the edge as well and stopped the movement of his hand.

“NO!” she protested when he withdrew his fingers.

“Shhh….I’m here…” he whispered and gently pressed his hard cock into her. She moaned deeply when he continued to pump her.

“Kimi…look at me…” he hissed through his teeth trying desperately to hold on for a couple more seconds to come with her together.

Her now mid-night blue eyes opened slowly and tried to focus on him. She was in agony by now, needing him desperately to give her release.

He groaned deep in his throat when he saw her passion filled eyes and leaned forward to press deeper into her. Her body arched off the mattress when he hit the spot and let the waves of her orgasm wash through her body.

“God, Kimi…” he growled when she squeezed him empty.

Chapter 69

“Kimberly? Is that you?” Dorothea tried to spot the young woman behind a huge gift basket when she opened the door.

“Yeah, hi Dorothea. Could you guide me, so I can put it down? I barely see where I’m going.”

“Sure, here let me help you.” Together they carried the basket into the kitchen and placed it on the table.

“What are you already doing here?” Dot wondered.

They were all celebrating Thanksgiving together in the house in Red Bank. She told Kimberly that she would do all the preparations, so Kim didn’t need to worry about it besides her job. Kim tried to protest, but Dorothea didn’t wanna hear any of it.

“Well, I’m pretty sure there’s something I can help you with. I know how much work it is to prepare Thanksgiving for such a big family. It’s just not my style to sit around and wait.” Kim said.

“Oh, it’s not that much. Jon will deep fry the turkey later and that’s it.” Dot tried to play it down, but secretly appreciated her offer.

“Yeah, right. It’s only the turkey.” Kim replied dryly. “I bet there are several pies, stuffing, rolls and Lord knows what else in the fridge.” Dot grinned.

“Actually I still need to bake the rolls and two pies.”

“I knew it.” Kim grinned. Dot shook her head smiling.

“Thanks for coming. Does Jon know?” She wondered.

“Well, he will, when Jake and Romeo wake him up and show him my note.” Kim chuckled.

The two boys were already awake when she left the apartment and promised her to wake Jon exactly at 7:30 am. She knew she could count on them, when Romeo placed the clock from the kitchen on the dining room table and wouldn’t miss a single movement of the hands.

“He’s gone love it.” Dorothea chuckled too.

“So, who’s that present basket for? Jon’s parents?” she asked.

“No, actually…it’s for you.” Kim told her.

“For me?” Dot looked at her surprised.

“Yeah, you had all the work to get this done, I thought you might need something to relax a bit in the next couple days.” Kim explained a little nervous. She hoped Dorothea would like it.

“You are unbelievable…” Slowly Dot walked closer to the huge basket and inspected it. It held three bottles of wine, one white and two red, chocolate truffles and other chocolate as well as cheese and biscotti, which would all highlight the great wines together with some smoked almonds.

“Thanks so much, Kimberly.” She gave the blond woman a hug and tried not to get all emotional. Nobody ever gave her something like this. It was always her who was composing such wonderful presents for others.

“Glad you like it.” She smiled happily. “And…I know it’s maybe a little odd, but…I’m Kim.”

“Hi Kim, I’m Dot.” The reply came without any hesitation. Both women laughed lightly.

“How about I give you a short tour of the house before we start with the baking. And we can wake Steph and Jess, they have some things to do too today.” Dot suggested.

“Ok, let’s go.”

Together they toured the house and Dot showed her the huge backyard with the river. She explained that even though Jake and Romeo could both swim and were no longer toddlers there were rather strict rules how close they could go to the river.

She pointed out Jon’s pub, the studio and the guest house and knew Jon would show her all this later on his own.

“So, Jon is using the guest house and you stay in the main house when you are here together?” Kim asked when they walked upstairs to the different bedrooms.

“Yeah, but it happens only once or twice a year that we are here together. The same goes for the Hampton house. Normally we tell each other and take the kids, you know.” Kim nodded.

“Ok, this is Jon’s room.” Dot pointed at one door, but didn’t open it. Kim hesitated.

“It’s ok. Check it out. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t mind.” Dot said softly and remained at the open door when Kim risked a short glance into the room. The light wall color was a strong contrast to the deep brown furnisher and carpet. She didn’t spot any accessories or extra pillows, just some framed pictures of the kids. Kim searched for Dot’s eyes when she closed the door again.

“He re-did the whole room after we separated. I sleep down the hall, when I’m here.” She answered the unspoken question. Kim only nodded.

After they woke up the kids and Kim admired Steph’s new short haircut, which she got only two days ago, the two women started their preparations in the kitchen.

They were already working for quite a while, when the front door opened.

“Kimi, are you here?” Jon yelled.

“Kitchen.”

Jon rounded the corner and found his girlfriend and ex-wife mixing dough. He couldn’t help the huge smile that spread across his face.

“Good morning, ladies.” He greeted them each with a kiss after his two youngest sons said hello to their mother. Dot and Kim grinned at each other and waited for Steph’s grand entrance.

“Hi Dad.” Steph’s voice made Jon turn around and the smile faded. Dot watched Jon interested while Kim had problems keeping her laughter in check.

He stepped closer to his daughter and carefully ran his hand through her short blond hair. He sighed deeply and searched his daughters eyes.

“Do you like it, babygirl.”

“Yeah, I love it, dad.” She replied smiling happily.

“You look beautiful, Steph.” He kissed her cheek softly and pulled her into a hug. She looked so grown up with it. He knew he needed some time to get used to her new look.

“Thanks dad.” Steph beamed and immediately started begging him to let her go with him to the SNL recording in two weeks, so she could meet Taylor Lautner. Jon wasn’t very happy about her idea, but when Kim told him she would be there as well and Dorothea agreed, he didn’t have any more saying in it.

He sighed deeply when his little girl rushed off to call her girlfriends and share the big news.

“I thought you wanted to get used to her growing up. Having a boyfriend or a crush goes with it, baby.” Kim said softly and gave him a short hug. She didn’t wanna show too much affection when Dorothea was around. It just didn’t seem right.

“Yeah, I know. I think I don’t mind her having a boyfriend…” the two women looked at him sceptical. “…really!...I …I just don’t want her having a celebrity as a boyfriend…the pap-rats would show no mercy. I think that’s something she doesn’t need.”

Kim and Dot couldn’t really argue with that and Kim promised she wouldn’t let any photographer close to Steph during SNL.

Just when all the preparations were done and Jon had set up everything to deep fry the turkey on the patio the other family members arrived and Kim got nervous.

His brothers and their wives greeted her warmly, especially after they realised that Dot and her were getting along quite well. His father had a short but very investigating talk with her and seemed satisfied that she had a job and a life besides his son.

His mother was a totally different story though. Right from the moment she greeted Kimberly she was cold and repellent. Kim tried to get into a conversation with her to give her a chance to get to know her and maybe wash away any worry she might have, but Carol didn’t wanna talk to her. She only shot disapproving glances in her direction and seemed really unhappy about the outfit Kim chose for today.

Finally Kim gave up. She had no idea why Jon’s mother didn’t wanna talk to her or what could be wrong about the dark trousers and the purple long sleeved top she’d wore today. It was totally appropriated in front of the kids, it didn’t show anything at all and besides she knew she had the figure to wear it.

When the kids had left to watch a movie and Jon wanted to leave the house to fry the turkey his mother pulled him aside.

“I don’t like her Johnny. Such a blond girl, she is probably only after your money.” Jon stared at her for a second before erupting into loud uncontrolled laughter.

Every conversation in the room stopped dead and all were looking at him expectant.

“I don’t think it’s funny, Jon!” his mother told him sternly.

“Oh, mom…believe me, it is…it is terribly funny.” He looked at Kim.

“She thinks you are only after my money, blondie.” And burst into laughter again. Kim tried to keep a stern face. She should be offended by his mother’s words after all, but Jon’s laughter was infectious.

“Can someone tell me, what’s so damn funny.” His mother got angry.

“Well, mom if you would have talked to Kim, you would know that she is a pediatrician at a hospital in New York and not a stupid blond girl.” Jon pointed out and kissed Kim on her cheek. She smiled stalwart.

“You are a doctor?” Carol was surprised. Kim nodded. No need to tell her that she was planning to quit her job.

“Yeah, mom and a pretty good one I might add.” Kim blushed a  little at his praise.

“Besides…she aces me out when it comes to money about… what? Ten, twelve times.” He searched Kim’s eyes for confirmation. They never talked about how much money each of them had. But he knew she was way out of his league.

Everybody in the room except Dorothea gasped surprised at his statement. She was the only who knew who Kim’s parents were.

“Probably more, baby…I had two good weeks.” Kim replied dryly.

“Ha! I knew you were a pretty good catch!” Jon stated and pulled her close for a long kiss.

Chapter 68

Hi everyone,

I know, I know...it's been way longer than four weeks. I can only tell you I was ready to kill the technician from the telephone company when he finally showed up here. Somehow they always messed up my dates.

Anyway, it took me some time to find my way back into my own story, but now I can proudly say...finally I do have a clue about what's going on and why I wrote it! lol

Here is the next chapter. Enjoy it!

~ Kris ~

“Ok, everybody ready?” Jon asked and rubbed his cold hands. The Band was at the ‘Today Show’ today and would perform a couple songs before Thanksgiving tomorrow.

They all had to be there early in the morning for sound check and first short talks with the ‘Today Show’ crew. Kim didn’t mind being up that early, but she was surprised that Jake and Romeo would join them.

The two boys were bouncing with excitement when Jon and Kim picked them up earlier this morning. They didn’t have school today and Dorothea was quite relieved to get them out of the way while doing the preparations for the next day.

“Ok, I want you two to stay with Kim or one of the crew members, got it?” Jon made sure he had the undivided attention of his boys. They nodded.

“Good. Don’t take your jackets or hoods off and wrap yourself into one of the blankets Mom gave you if it’s getting too cold and windy. I don’t want you to get sick and spend Thanksgiving in bed.”

This time not only his boys nodded, but Kim as well. She had been surprised when Dorothea handed her the blankets, but right now she wanted to crawl under one herself. The temperature was only around 35° F; the wind was ice cold and gained force between the tall buildings. Besides she had the weird feeling that someone was watching her…already had it for a couple days.

She was actually a bit worried about Jon and the rest of the guys. They all were wearing jackets or coats, even Tico who normally hated it to wear something else than a shirt while he had to play his drums, but the clothes didn’t look thick and warm. Jon only laughed when she told him and raised the hem of his black shirt a bit and revealed a layer of thermal ski underwear.

“We ain’t doing this for the first, hon. We learned after our first performance years ago.” Jon chuckled. He couldn’t look like a puffy snowman, he still needed to be the sexy Rockstar and shake his ass for the ladies after all.

Jon was in a good mood this morning and constantly joking with Rich, David, Tico or one of the crew members, who didn’t seem to know about the thermal trick, because they were freezing their asses of on the side of the small stage.

Kim smiled when Romeo walked over to her and wanted to be wrapped into the blanket. The excitement about being with his dad was gone. Now he was freezing and starting to feel tired again. She pulled him a little closer and made sure he was cosy and warm.

Jake on the other hand watched every move his father made while they performed the first of four songs and was over the moon when Jon told him to come up on stage during one of the commercial breaks. His fans didn’t disappoint him and waved and shouted at his son, who seemed at bit surprised by so much affection.

When they continued with ‘Superman Tonight’ after a short interview Kim’s mind started to wander off. The last week had gone by in wild wind. Jon and the guys were running from one interview to the next one, having short radio interviews in between and still finding time for their charity work and family like Richie yesterday, who went to his hometown with his mother and helped Kelly, a girl from his old highschool, to come home from hospital and spend Thanksgiving with her family.

And this was just one week. It would go on like this until Christmas. She had no idea how they could do all this. Jon barely had time to catch a breath in between some meeting and interviews and was still running on high pace.

“Kim? Kim?” Romeo’s voice brought her back to reality.

“Huh? Oh, sorry. I wasn’t listening. Could you repeat what you said, please?” She leaned down so she could hear his voice over the loud music.

“I said Uncle David looks funny. Look at his hair swinging around in the wind while he is playing.” He pointed at David, who tried to move around at his keys during the songs as much as possible to stay warm which caused his blond curls to fly uncontrollable around in the wind. She chuckled.

“You are right. It looks pretty funny.” Romeo nodded and waved at David, grinning widely when it made the curls fly even more.

Jon didn’t miss the interaction between his youngest son and Kim. He was happy that Romeo was getting more comfortable with Kim being around. Right after he was back from the hospital, he was very shy and distant when Kim showed up. She told him it was normal, because she had to slip into the ‘doctor role’ and was no longer just ‘Daddy’s new girlfriend’. She assured him that his son would come around in a little while. Well, it seemed she was right.

“Hey you…” Jon stepped off the stage and walked over to them during the next break. “What’s so damn funny.”

“Uncle David.” His son giggled when another gust of wind made the curls swing. Jon turned around and chuckled.

“Wanna go over to him, buddy.” Romeo nodded eager. “Ok, but you gotta hurry. We have to play more songs.” His son rushed off with Jake right behind him.

“And you, why so worried?” He pulled her into short hug and rubbed his hands over her back. She was freezing, he could see that.

“Worried? Me? Not really…maybe thoughtful.”

“About what?” She sighed.

“You got so much to do. I have no idea how you keep up with everything over such a long period of time. I mean today New York, tomorrow family time, than Rich is off to LA to go to this premiere with Ava, we are off to DC to this Character Unite thing, then back to New Jersey and interviews and performances all in between. How do you do it?” she wondered.

“Be organized and stay calm. Sleep when you have the option and don’t worry about my babies, I know they are taken care of.” He simply answered and tried to shake off the nervousness about the meeting in DC.

“You’ll do just fine. And I’ll be with you. Don’t be nervous.” Kim said. She knew he wasn’t really feeling comfortable about going to DC and kissed his cheek softly, which earned her whistles and catcalls from the crowd. Jon chuckled.

“Yeah, I know, hon. But the same goes for you.” He pointed out already returning to the stage and telling his sons to go down to her again. She looked at him irritated.

“I’ll be with you tomorrow when you’ll meet the Bongiovi clan.” He grinned when she paled visibly. She would meet his parents and brothers tomorrow for the first time. So far Jon had only told them about her on the phone, because they didn’t had the time to meet in person. But tomorrow would be the day.
